Carp and Barbel arn't related but eat in a very similar way and Fishy boilies work

I caught my first Barbel yesterday! It was about 4-5lbs in size, and muscular as anything I've ever seen in my life.
I was fishing with 5lb mainline and a size 14 hook with double white maggots - was actually looking for Chub! A pretty damn fine experience.

 the 4 fish i have always wanted to catch are barbel black bass pike chub (i have only just started course i usually fly fish)
