Startin Pole fishing
as i am getting a pole for christmas(dont know which one yet) what would be the best fish to go for for a complete beginner like me ad at the time of the year. any anyone have any tips for pole fishing

when fishing in the winter target the silver fish, roach,bream,rudd & chub.

Yeah i Agree with targeting smaller/silver fish. but i would suggest gettin a pole that could handle a rouge carp as well ( or just get a little stronger elastic) although carp are normal very "dopey" this time of year as they wont fight as much as they would in summer.
Also Pole fishing for carp is great sport!

hi best pole for the price Daiwa G8 .less then a 1000 you wont get a better pole for the price

The g8 is strong but very floppy depends how much u want to spend. For about £800 u can get a map adrellin pro 16 meter with a grate top kit selection with it. I use one for all my match fishing from carp to roach if this is 2 much map do a range called tks witch is a very good pole.
