I want to catch a big perch...

Hey guys i would like to know some good methods of catching big perch (above 2pounds)

I personally use red maggot x2.

But will a 3pound perch bother with a couple of maggots?

Thanks guys ! =)

Live baiting is considered barbaric now-a-days and ammo for the anti's to get us stopped fishing

lots of Angling Associations actively ban it's use and dead baiting for pike and perch is actually more effective

to be honest mate, perch most of the time if they see bait they will take it, they don't mind maggots but if you especially want the 2lb+ i would make sure there are perch that big where you are fishing an dif so try useing a size 14 hook with 5 or 6 maggots and loose feed maggots you could give that a go, or use 2 or 3 worms on a size 14 or 12 hook, you never no you might find a carp on the other end of your line.

Yes
but try Red worm rather than Lobworm (earthworms from the garden) you should be able to get 3-4 on a 12 hook and of course if you can get Brandling worms they are even better as the juices they chuck out attract Perch

Brandling is a red worm with yellow stripes that oozes a yellow liquid
