ok, glad to know youve taken a intrest in a sport full of possiblilities sutting up. once youve masterd it, you wont forget

Ok Line Your Rod, From The Line On Your Reel Through each Eye Of The Hook.

next put your float on you can do this one of 2 ways, you can put the line through the back of the fload once, or you can put it through the SAME way twice, this is mean you do not need shots to hold your float in place.

on your float on the side you should see soem writing, for example it should say 2BB witch indicates how many weights you want (2) and what size (BB) you can get "loaded" or "self Cocking" floats also for a little extra at every tackle shop.

Ok the hook, the most important bit while your fishing, all u need is to master a knot called the "knotless knot" no trick here. get your size hook and pass the line through the back of the hook eye wrap round the hook, anything betweeb 5-11 times (i do 7) and then pull the line back through the back of the eye. trim off excess line but no so much that you hook might unwind.

hope this helps, and i hopeyou stay fishing for a long time.

REMEMBER, NEVER FISHING IN LIGHTING YOU'R LITRALLY HOLDING A LIGHTNING ROD.

Enjoy, Danny

P.S
other stuff you might need: Landing Net (Lifting a fish with your rod can damage the fish)
Keep Net (if you every enter a match)
Tackle Box (Easly Store Tackle, These Are alvalible with seats)
Bait Box (used for baits, but traditionly used for maggots)
Licence ( if your over 12 you will need a licence, Big fines if your caught with out one.)
Respect (for the fish, other anglers and teh enviroment your fishign in.)
Love Of The Sport (enjoy fishing and get the most out of it)

i bring

if you are fishing as a newbie you might want to use a pole or whip.
if you arse using a rod and reel it is not the end of the world just trawl the internet for tips.

as a new fisherman myself i bring
-a tool box for floats, bait and DISGORGERS etc
-some camping chairs for sitting on
-a net£6.99 from argos
-my rod or pole

if you are unlucky enough to get a greedy little perch firs time ,dont be afraid to ask for help disgorging it.

Canal baits

Hi,

I started my fishing days on the canal, but i avent fished da canal for about a year now.

When i fished the baits that i found worked for me for maggots and chopped worm, but yes sweetcorn can be a good canal bait and i have used it on canal an d sometimes had good days on it.

good luck with your fishing.

Red face

i was using a size 18 hook, was working on the theory if the fish couldnt see the hook i would be more likely to catch one,
