Hi Neaco,
Canal fishing can differ around the country, tench fishing really stays the same, tench are bottom feeders that like to rummage about in the silt looking for food. From experience the best bait is without a doubt sweetcorn. if the fish seem wary of your hooked corn try squeezing it to change the shape, i don't know why but this works. If sweetcorn isn't the bait of the day then as you are fishing a canal try triple maggot hooked just between the two little nobbles on the stubby end (this will ensure that they stay alive and Wrigley), in a natural water like a canal natural baits should work best. Remember to plumb your depth as tench really are bottom feeders. Good Luck & Tight Lines ![]() Last edited by lpmcemap : 07-15-2008 at 11:29 AM. |
