of to mescar

hi all i am going to mescar lakes in lydiate on tuesday i am told the lake holds a good head of carp/perch/bream/silverfish mainly carp are my target spiecies most of the carp are quite small averageing 5 to 10 pounds mainly
can anyone suggest which method from float or a running ledger would be best also any grounbait or feeding tactics which you think mat score i am not very experienced so would apprecite any help
