Re: winter carping

This seems to be a regular question at the moment. Many anglers scale down and use the thinnest line they can. Lately I have been using thicker line. I believe fish are not actually scared of something they can see. If they see something they can avoid it, but if they swim straight INTO the line they might spook.

Darren.

Re: winter carping

I find that Carp whilst easily spooked are easiest to catch of most fish as long as they don't se any line they don't get suspicious
On the local lake to me Pole works the best for fish up to 30lb

Re: winter carping

Not wanting to start a war but I feel that if carp ARE NOT spooked then they can be easy to catch

I would agree about the blanking but it's not something I'm used to usually ends up with me spending ages reflecting why!!!!!

Shall we start a new thread ??

What's the easiest fish to catch
