New Coarse Fishery Opened - Worcester

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to let you know about our new fishery that we have opened. We are starting press coverage over the next few weeks but we welcome any members to come along and see us.

We are based at Wichenford, Worcester and our website is Cob House Fisheries.

We have a mixture of pools:-

Laugherne Island - a match pool stuffed with Carp (Common, Mirror, Crucian and Crucian x) Silver Fish coming in the Autumn. Winning match weight the other day (we did a pre-opening test match) was 104lb 4oz. 39 pegs spaced 8m apart.

Oak Pool - Great little club pool, this is only partially pegged down one of the sides and has 10 pegs. It is again full of Carp and Silvers will be arriving in the Autumn.

Laurel Pool - 22 peg pool with max sized fish of about 1lb. Full of Carp, Tench, Roach, Rudd and Bream.

Pips Willow - the first of the beautiful old stew pools at Cob House, they all contain specimen Carp, Tench, roach, Rudd, Bream, Perch, Ghost Carp, Crucians, Crucian X etc etc. These date back to the Victorian times. There is also, Jade Island, Ryans and Listers End. The one side of these is presently rented by a club but the other side is open for day tickets.

All the Carp in Laugherne Island, Oak and Laurel are our own farmed Carp, Tench, Crucians and Crucian X. We have been a fish farm for over 20 years but have recently decided to diversify into the fishery side.

We are working with the National Association of Disabled Anglers to provide excellent facilities for the disabled angler and we also have plans in for a canteen, tackle shop and teaching centre.

On Sundays we have catering facilities on site and the first 10 anglers will receive a sandwich of their choice free of charge.

On arrival you will see a site plan; anything with a peg number is open for fishing unless you see a sign at the poolside that it is closed for a match. We supply all landing nets and do not charge for this service.

We also have a Junior Angling Club. We are trying to get as many juniors fishing as possible. There is the Entry Level, Intermediate and Advance and adult tuition can be done on Saturday afternoons under the instruction of out own PAA coach.

After the Junior Angling Club, the coach will offer a "sitting" service this means that he will watch the child (not instruct) to ensure that they are safe etc for as little as £2.50 per hour (they will also need to purchase a day ticket @ £5) - but hey, I don’t think that I know of another fishery that offers this service. Booking for this is essential and it is for Saturdays and School holidays.

So, hopefully we might see some of you tomorrow morning for the free Bacon, or sausage or bacon and egg etc sandwich.

We open at 7am and close at 9pm, £6 per day per adult and concessions and half days (from 2pm summer) £5. Loose feeding pellets purchased from us at £1 per pint.

So, thanks for reading, I just wanted to let you know that we are here and now open and taking match bookings, open matches start in July so watch the website for confirmed dates.

Please feel free to email me to ask any questions.

Helen

Hi Helen, Thanks for the post.. Would you be interested in me doing a fishery review for AnglersCircle? I don't live too far away and could come fish with my friend and take some pics of the place and the catch..

If your interested let me know, could be some good exposure for your fishery.

Darren.
