use bread, pull a bit off with some crust, hook through crust, when the carp takes, dont strike early give it a second or two it won't spit it out. use a size 12 and up and try not to cast it far, under rod tip or slightly out, or you'l have a rite job keeping it on.

Try using a size 16 hook length with a hair and if possible buy a cheap bag of dog mixer for around 3 quid but will last you a long time. Scatter some freebies on surface to get them confident with the bait and then drill some holes before hand in some of the biscuits to make it easier applying them to the hair.

It's up to you on how many you want to use on the hair but I prefer to use 3 as it tends to pick out the larger fish and helps counter balance the hook. It's much more easier if you use a pole as well as you can literally place the biscuit in front of their noses.

Here is a result from last weekend but unfortunately caught the greediest and smallest of the carp feeding.

It also had what looked like a heron attempting to eat it on its dorsal fin.
Good luck

TFG surface missile

I use surface missiles from TFG all you need is a size 11 swivel and a surface missile, and you don't even need to strike the fish pull away and then the swivel goes inside the missile and hooks the fish it works every time on especially shy fish. On the bait all i use is a scopex soft floating hooker no hair rigs just straithg on the hook (make sure the hook point is showing).

Cool use dog buiscuits

i always use floating dog buiscuits i use the soft if im fishing about 8-9 meters away if im about 20-21 id use a buble float thois is a float that u can fill with water to plump up and split the hard dog buiscuits in half and use super glue to put it on the hook

tight lines

This is the method I'd use for dog biscuits but I also use bread on the hook too AND if fishing close in (1-2 rod lengths out) I only use the bread to cast no float the method is easy
hook the bread dip it in the water and underhand cast it out
this is a French 20lb that took the bread --

Yes I know it looks small but it had'nt spawned yet so was quite fat
