Chub are a daft fish they eat anything when they are hungry and they are usually hungry all the time
BUT they are also a timid fish when it comes to bait if it caused them problems they stay away so what ever you are using feed it little and often but use a bigger bit on the hook catch one then move DOWNSTREAM as they always seem to go upstream when you release them so you are heading for fish that are unaware and will have had regular free titbits already

I personally think the stick float with maggots or Casters or Some kind of what and seeds, many work and i have caught many chub like this, not big i admit but its just experimenting. My biggest chub of 4lb 12oz came on bread flake under a treeso never rule bread out but personally, insects and seeds take my vote.
