GREEN 3-4 0.75MM DAIMETER, FISH UP TO 3LB - LO vis guide 1.1lb

PURPLE 4-6, 0.875MM DIAMETER, FISH UP TO 4 LB - Lo viz guide 1.7lb

ORANGE 6-10, 1.0MM DIAMETER, FISH UP TO 5 LB - Lo viz guide main 3.2lb

YELLOW 8-10, 1.3MM DIAMETER, FISH UP TO 6 LB - Lo viz guide main 4.4lb

PINK 10-12, 1.6MM DIAMETER, FISH UP TO 8 LB - Lo viz guide main 6.1lb

RED 14-16, 1.85 DIAMETER, FISH UP TO 14 LB - Lo viz guide 8.0lb

BLUE BUNGEE 18-20 WOPPER STOPPER - Lo vz guide main 10.3lb

NEW WHITE 22-24 2.4MM DIAMETER, MONSTER CARP - Lo Viz guide 10.3lb

this is the middy elastic/line rating guide but its a good rough guide to follow, just a few things 1, the number is the elastic rating not breaking strain, its is not really advisable to be targeting carp of 17.5lbs on the pole, i have had rig with 20's elastic snapped by a fish of about 18 - 20lb, that was using a shock stikk, and also you need to check what the elastic rating for the pole is, an 8's elastic in a match kit is fine, and 12's and 14's on power tops is not bad, but i personaly would have gone for a 14's and an 18's if the pole was rated to 18 or 20+.

one and probably the most important thing to get right is the line ie rig you use in comparison with the elastic you desire this could well save you smashing your pole for a number 16 i would not go over 7ib main line and believe me this can handle very big fish .as you will discover very soon .
As you probably know carp are not as active in the winter months so dont tend to give so much of a scrap this allows you to fish a lighter elastic and smaller line though it will take some time to master good luck and tight elastics.
