put insome groundbait --about 2 balls
feed little and often
and enjoy yourself

If you start getting bigger fish change rigs but start out light and get used to the strike

Cool new to pole fishing

If your new to pole fishing you have got it right by starting at about 10 mtr's in length. Personally i would fish a bait that is going to stay on the hook well because if your new to pole fishing your rig is going to get bashed about when shipping out and so is your bait i have found that polony meat, pepperoni, maggots and the new Bag'em Baits smoothskin pellets or sweetcorn to be pretty tough baits for this kind of work. But if you have a favourate bait which is soft that you want to use buy a cad pot from preston and remove the funnel then put your hookbait along with some loose feed in it and ship your pole out to the desired area and turn the pole until your hookbait and loose feed comes out this way your hookbait should be sitting in the middle of your loosefeed anymore info needed just ask

I always smile when someone says buy this piece of kit and then gives a name of a manufacturer as well -- Not getting at anyone it's a feature of Society today I'm afraid

got loads of cupping kits well at least 4 different makers ones
BUT the best ones I've got are home made

the main two are lids of quite large aerosol cans
one is simply made by putting a thin cut (using a junior hacksaw then tidying the slit up with Stanley) through the top on the closed end so it presses on to the top of the pole and is used as above

the second is an identical lid with 2 paper clips
-one either side to act as sliders for 2 swivels which are fastened up together with some 18lb line and a snap swivel added at the top to clip it to the stonfo of the pole you are using
on one side of the pot a couple of double swan shot are Araldited on so that when it's lowered on to the waters surface it tips up and empties itself

Cost
2 paper-clips "borrowed" from work about 20 years ago and 2 shot with a blob of Araldite
no need for separate pole sections as cupping kits either
