Nice one lowrider. I'm in a similar place as I stopped fishing about 25 years ago and have just recently picked it up again. Completely hooked again now. Have only been about 3 or 4 times since Christimas but each time I come away from the water, just want to be back again! Have joined the local club and went to look at their private carp fishery yesterday. Really awesome with about 500 carp in this big resevoir which the club owns. Can't wait for the 1st May when it opens again. Let me know of any tips you pick up and I'll do the same as things have changed alot during the last 25 years.
One thing I did try the other day was a "lasoo" rig that the bloke in the local shop told me about. Tried it with pellet and in deeper water caught a great roach (even though going for carp, lol!). Going to try again next week. Give these a go as it worked well for me and was a good new experience.

Cheers mate.
