First hello and welcome to the forum

now the second question first

a "feeder" rod is a heavier leger rod to a "quivertip" rod but without an indicator built in
"Quivertips" usually have a tip that gives you an indication of a bite and the tips are classed by how much static weight bends them through 90 degrees
"Feeder" rods are classes as light , medium , or heavy and where you fish decides what you need

As to price you can pick up a decent-ish one with a reel combo for around £30 but you can pay oads more if you have it

Depends on where you live
Sometimes you can find a shop that cheaper than the web but you have to remember 2 things

1/ where you buy your bait -- if he doesn't sell tackle often he won't be there very long
2/ buyng of the web can be tricky if the rod is broken in transit it's NOT the shops fault and YOu WILL have to pay for Postage extra

I hate saying this bit don't forget Argos they sometimes have cheap tackle
Decathlon are good as they do all tackle and bait
and at this moment in time Poundland have some spinners(£1 for3) and Flies (£1 for 8) and Pole floats (3 for £1) but don't bother with any of the other stuff you get what you pay for

Couple starter kits on our site Top Fishing Tackle just added a browning feeder deal rod ,reel, bag and 4 different tips.

As gray said argos are as good as anyone for starter kits mostly zebco i believe they do. Have a good look around there is loads of deals if you can be bothered to look.

I love feeder fishing it can be addictive when your bagging up.

Good Luck and tight lines.
