New to carp fishing

Hi all im new to this forum. I've been fishing for about 3 years now, only young and tend to use the pole as well as the waggler rod although i want to get into carp fishing! I'm planning on getting all the gear soon enough but just having trouble understanding some of the carp rigs. I don't want to use too complicated rigs, just simple yet effective rigs. Does anyone have any ideas on what rigs i could use? I think the semi-fixed bolt rig would be fine for my use but im having trouble understanding the safety clips!? do these safety clips come with a swivel attached or do you have to attach one yourself?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

you should just use hair rigs they can be picked up quite cheap at your local tackle shop from about £1.90 to £4.00 there nice easy to use with boilies

i'm fairly new too and have been using some stuff from the bait warehouse at the bugle nurseries. i try to be consistent with my bait, so i ahve used the RED-Z boilies and pop ups and have had good results. occassionaly will use bloodworm popups if they are out of red-z.

I'm new to Carp fishing too but an old hand at fishing

Hair rigs are actually fairly easy to tie yourself especially if you use a "hook tyer " and leave a longer than normal tail

Pop up baits are easy with a pice of foam or bouyant material inside and who ever inveted PVA bags is a winner far more acurate than Spodding they are like using a pole cup but on a rod

I have found there are thousands of bits of kit for Carp fishing some of which you will use only once

but the basics you need are
Decent rod reel combos
something that is balanced - doesn't need to cost teh earth either
adjustable bite alarms
again something that gives you a noise my Mitchell cost me €19
rod pod
Was gazing at these and thinking wish my Dad were still alive it would cost me nothing (he was a coachuilder)
then found one in Cite d Europe €18 and it's aluminium so its light and has back bite detectors in the kit
good hooks and decent line
this is the bit where you do need to spend good money decide what you need by trial and error find what is balanced with your rods and use a new hook every session
Oh and I do live in England but do a lot of fishing in France too
