Re: how can i catch these carp

Have you tried fishing for them on the top? if there isn't too many ducks at this lake you could start feeding them mixers and floating trout pellets in small amounts in places where the carp feel confident like under overhangs etc.
When there up for it they go potty for the mixers bud and its still warm enough to get the odd fish off the top.All you need is one twenty!!
Most people won't bother to fish on the top as it can get really frustrating,or there just bloody lazy! it pays to persevere as i had my first twenty off the top when there was nothing happening on the bottom,

Re: how can i catch these carp

yes thats right. but just to get them in a feeding frenzy i tand to feed for about an hour before i cast out because the carp get used to taking of the top. this is ideal because you can cast out you hook bait and soon as it hits the water you are in to a carp. buy the fake dog biscuits because the hook stays on the top of the water so the carp cant see it. but make sure the carp are feeding well. I never use the real thing because the carp can see the hook.

Re: how can i catch these carp

try fishing near the lock thingy. fish hang around these waiting for food and bits to wash their way. and it may sound stupid but they also like hannging around them because of the oxygen that the river brings in. also this aplies for windy days. fish into corners of the lake where the wind is blowing. the water being blown towards these corners carry all sorts of bits that the carp like to eat. hope that helps.

Re: how can i catch these carp

try and get them on the surface in the summer with floating pellets.feed for 1 hour or until they are comfortably on the feed and then introduce a dog mixer glued onto a hair. If you are casting far then use a carp controller float with this or if the fish are close in, just freeline the bait. big carp are also suckers for an air-injectd lobworm. hope that helps.gud luck!!
