Well done on the ghost carp and caught on around halloween time as well
cant give you any advice on whiteacres because i have never fished it but i would think that the weather being cold now then casters might do well also try paste as that seems to be catching on a lot of waters now, best i can do...good luck

A tip for barbel is don't fish for them in still waters. If you read up the facts you will see its cruel to keep a fish like the barbel out of running water

All though you are right Sam they are in stillwaters now so we have to eccept that for what it is good or bad so with that in mind i would say meat is a good barbel bait to try and pellets

cat fish are predators and will eat anything with live/dead baits being favoured but pellets, boilies, luncheon meat will all catch you one.
Cat fish like big baits so a good cube of luncheon meat is better than a small one, fresh dead baits are better than frozen ones and live baits fished just under the surface do well, cat fish are nocturnal in nature and are caught mainly after dark so a good smelly bait is better so the cat fish pick up on it easy in the dark.
Large Halibut pellets are another good choice that catches well on some venues, two or even three on a hair rig with a large hook like a number 2/4 and the same with Boilies with shrimp, crab flavours doing well, you could also try a good glug to dip your bait into for added attraction even a good bunch of worms can catch you one but if it was me i would try deadbait coated in predator plus cast out to a marginal area because that is were you will find them when they come out to feed but remember that most of the baits mentioned will catch you other fish as well with carp and pike (if any) all coming into play so expect the unexpected

PS...it looks like Pats pool is the pool you will be on so Boilies, pellets and luncheon meat is the baits here is a link for you to look at Fishing holidays in Cornwall at White Acres
