Keenets are a good budget starter make. They offer good value for money.
Hoowever, you will pick up better brands, scond hand for the same cost. It makes no sense to buy budget tackle new, when you can get a lot better tackle second hand. I brought a shimano stradic specimen rod for £14 second hand and its a amazing rod. Its perfect for light feeder, pellet wagler, freelining on commercial carp puddles. For £14, new you wouldn't get anything near the quality of my rod. My advice to you would be have a look around a car boot sale or on ebay, as you will get alot more for your money

I would stay away from Keenets if i was you. When i first started fishing i got a Keenets package Landing net and Keep net. I had them 6 months and the netting was rubbish, had to get new ones.

I would have to agree with the post above, better going to second hand, when starting off.

Then once your hooked you can waste all your money on shinny new gear you think will catch you more fish

Most important tackle you must get though is

landing net
unhooking mat if targeting large fish
disgorger / forceps for larger fish
license

Not everyone has problems with Keenets But everyone has their favourites

I would not recommend second hand rods as you never know if they are liable to break but the other tackle I still buy some second hand

Taken the words out my mouth MD.....i never trust second hand stuff like rods/poles one you just can not be sure that they are in good condition and once you have them your done for then you have the problems of....are they stolen....fishing gear thefts are on the increase and you have no idea if these rods are not stolen....yes you can get a bargain but you can also get a load of stolen gear in your hands or faulty.....although Keenets are not a top make they are fine for the starter you get good and bad with all makes....i have a keenets brolly and it is sound no problems but it is new and if there was a problem i could take it back.....you can't do that with second hand
