I can't see the reels very well on my pc but i think these are standard rear drag reels and not baitrunner style

Mate i wouldn't buy that set as its probably a low standard. I'm sure you will be able to find a tackle store near you selling rods just as cheap and of a higher quality. I got a ron thompson carp rod and reel for £30. And please don't fall into the trap that to catch big carp you need to sit behind alarms. I did it, fox warrior rods ect and i've used them....twice. Biggest carp came off freelined dog biscuit on a 1lb test curve rod !! If i was you i would get a method feeder rod and give that a go. Your catch the same carp but its a more atttactive approach and you will learn faster. The only time i use alarms is at night on a sleeper rod if im feeder fishing the other rod. Also if you buy one rod and not two, you can spend twice as much on it and get a much much much better rod

Dont buy ANYTHING from Argos, not just fishing stuff, its all rubbish

Seriously though, youre better off buying single stuff and working up your "collection" thats what i did

Hi there,
after reading your posts it looks like your doing the same as me. And what I would like to know Dan is, I have started a website to help people like you and me who are Learning to fish, Would you be willing to share with me the things you have found easy or hard to do?

I would be very grateful if you could send me your spin on starting fishing.

I really hope to hear from you soon.
Daz
