ghost carp

hi all,

i was fishing 3 days ago and i noticed that as i got the carp surface feeding there was one carp that looked like a koi carp with white instead of red, i didnt catch it but asked my mate and he said that it was a ghost carp, never seen one before, rare in that lake. has anyone got any pics of their ghosties or any helpful tips on catching one as it is now my main target
any help greatly appreciated

cheers mate, i was actually using dog chub(pedigree mixer) and that is when it appeared, is there any way that i can attract just ghost carp because the lake is teeming with common and mirror, also, i was fishing with a float and shots but with a biscuit in a ring stabbed on the hook. i tried a hair rig but the carp snapped it straight away, would adding a swivel instead of a loop make it stronger? cheers for your help

Right, the way i freeline is this, Tie your hook straight onto the mainline. No hooklink just mainline straight to the hook. Maybe you could try using baitbands to hold the mixers on or, as i personally do, let a few go stale so they are soft enough to hook onto a size 4

cheers mate, i have been using a size 8 so far, the reason why i tried a hair rig is that when the carp really got going and i was using a bait band they would eat all the biscuits but when they got to mine they ALL obviously felt the hook and fled, when my mate suggested using a hair rig the carp took it straight under first time and i would of had him but the loop just snapped before i got time to strike. cheers for the tip on letting the biscuit go stale, ille have to try that.
