american carp

Just letting you kings of carp know that there are a few brave souls here in america who pursue carp as a primary goal. Most people here consider them trash fish but some of us know better.

I prefer to take them on a flyrod when I can but sometimes all that will work is bait, and that is fine with me too.

I thought I might learn some tricks from the masters.

We actually have some populations of uneducated carp here but most of them are pretty wise to the ways of the angler. Any good techniques that might not be used here very often?

Tony

Re: american carp

it you fish in a lake then try and cast out with 2 pices of corn on the hook and no weights or floats.floating baits are good if there are no small plauge fish.

Re: american carp

thanx tony i too am an american carp fisherman.... i really enjoy the fight.... tip: if fly fishing use a small piece of foam tied only in the center so it flares up or you can use bubble wrap...then tie in the middle between flares a big piece of maraboe(pink or white work best)

Re: american carp

I am an american carper and am wondering were you guys buy your bait from? I know of a site called whackerbaits, but are there any others? also, have you guys heard of or used an attractant called Obssession for carp? (no affiliation with obsession for men or obsession for woman)
