Telescopic rod's, whats your opinion?
I have just started to take up fishing again after a 12 year break LOL - i am also living in a flat so i have very limited space for gear etc - close to me i have access to a River, Canal and several Day Ticket Lakes all are just a bike ride away.
naturally carrying a tackle box, tackle, rods, nets etc on a bike is very akward, so i have bought myself a FOlding landing net, a telescopic rod and a rucksack with a built in chair. all my other gear is in the rucksack. what are your opinions on Telescopic rods? - i havent used it yet as my rod licence hasnt come through yet but it looks the business and it feels nice and coumfy. I am concentrating on Carp Fishing with it so i just pray it's strong enough to cope with any big boys i get - the line i got is 14Lbs so i think i'm ok there. |

Personally i prefer travel rods for your situation they can 4 or even 5 piece and go down to next to nothing in length, the telescopic rods are handy for chucking in the caravan or leaving in the boot of the car but i wouldnt fancy having a go at a decent carp on one.

i can remember i was fishing with a tele rod once. going for roach, but then manage to hook a size able carp about 8lb, this kinda, well killed the rod, the top section popped out and the other sections were pulled out so much they wouldnt go back in, personaly, depending on what ur going for, any thing more thn silver fish, i wouldnt reccomend a telescopic rod, but hey thats my veiw, fish how your most comfterble

My Opinion: Sea Fishing:
Hi - i sea fish - but here's my opinion:
think they can be great if they are a make that you can trust - they are very protable and easy to get ready although some cheaper ones can break easily. ![]()

I use Telescopic rods a lot as I have a set of 3, a light small one a Carp one and a beachcaster, permanently in my caravan so wherever you find me I am able to fish I also have a general course/pier one and a short pole that stay in the suitcase too Opinions 1/ if you buy high quality and the right size rod for the job it shouldn't let you down (I used to use a 15 foot one barbel fishing on an awkward river) 2/ as for line size 14lb is OK but I would have gone 12 unless there are huge fish in the water, it's thinner so flows through the eyes better even the huge ones on tele rods
