Telescopic rod's, whats your opinion?

I have just started to take up fishing again after a 12 year break LOL - i am also living in a flat so i have very limited space for gear etc - close to me i have access to a River, Canal and several Day Ticket Lakes all are just a bike ride away.

naturally carrying a tackle box, tackle, rods, nets etc on a bike is very akward, so i have bought myself a FOlding landing net, a telescopic rod and a rucksack with a built in chair. all my other gear is in the rucksack.

what are your opinions on Telescopic rods? - i havent used it yet as my rod licence hasnt come through yet but it looks the business and it feels nice and coumfy.

I am concentrating on Carp Fishing with it so i just pray it's strong enough to cope with any big boys i get - the line i got is 14Lbs so i think i'm ok there.

Personally i prefer travel rods for your situation they can 4 or even 5 piece and go down to next to nothing in length, the telescopic rods are handy for chucking in the caravan or leaving in the boot of the car but i wouldnt fancy having a go at a decent carp on one.

My Opinion: Sea Fishing:

Hi - i sea fish - but here's my opinion:
think they can be great if they are a make that you can trust - they are very protable and easy to get ready although some cheaper ones can break easily.

Right
I use Telescopic rods a lot as I have a set of 3, a light small one a Carp one and a beachcaster, permanently in my caravan so wherever you find me I am able to fish

I also have a general course/pier one and a short pole that stay in the suitcase too

Opinions
1/ if you buy high quality and the right size rod for the job it shouldn't let you down (I used to use a 15 foot one barbel fishing on an awkward river)

2/ as for line size 14lb is OK but I would have gone 12 unless there are huge fish in the water, it's thinner so flows through the eyes better even the huge ones on tele rods
