pva bag question

hi guys,

i have decided to try using a pva bag. problem being, as soon as water touches it it dissolves: thats how it works lol but i mix my groundbait with water to solidify it if you know what i mean. can i use anything else to thicken it up, as opposed to water, that wont dissolve the bag as soon as i put the groundbait into the bag?

cheers,

d00ner.

Don't use them for groundbait just particles and they neeed to dry out a lot first

I use PVA bags with ground-bait without problems, the bags have to be dissolved in water to disappear, mixing up my ground bait the night before helps the ground bait absorb the water better than mixing it on the bank, use the same if not a slightly dryer mix than you would when using a method feeder. dry your hands well before filling the bag, remember to puncture the bag to allow it to sink as they don't disappear instantly, they take up to a few minutes to dissolve in winter less in summer, try placing one in a bucket you will see what i mean.

You can get pva friendly baits now for your bags or you can just put particles straight in to the bag also pva friendly, personally if you insisit on groundbait i would put it in a stick it will still melt fast but should get you into your swim. or a spod and catapult is just as good.
