does anyone bother to rake the bottom these days? i read two schools of thought on it, one that most people believe the raking 'stirs' up the bottom which attracts the tench.
To me this doesn't make too much sense and I prefer the other thought, that the raking simply clears the bottom so that your bait is more visible.
I'm off next week for some really REALLY early morning tench missions, any more bait suggestions? at the moment it's looking like maggot and perhaps sweetcorn for visibility. a feeder rig sounds like the best idea.
