Hi all, first of all I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for letting me become a member of this fantastic and very useful site. Here is my story,
I went Fishing yesterday at my local lake and I could see lots of Carp right on the surface and they looked very big. I have been fishing for around a year now and I took a keen interest in fishing for Carp around 2 months back which was when I had my first Common Carp at 15 ib, I was really happy and the fight was excellent! As it was fairly cold and could not see the Carp I used the ledgering method which was successful. Anyway, I thought that if I place bait right on top of these Carp then I should be able to catch them but apparently not, they just swam straight past my bait like it was transparent! I was using Boilies to try to catch them but had no luck at all and it was so frustrating seeing these monsters everywhere and not being able to catch them, at certain points they were so close in you could basically catch them with a net but that's not the point

. I thought today that I may be using the wrong type of bait? Perhaps next time I go I should try using Bread, sweetcorn and luncheon meet etc, does anyone else think I was using the wrong type of bait or is there anything I could do to increase my chances of catching? Again, thank you very much for letting me posting on the Forums, all the best,
Chris.
