Winter time i would use any bright bait maybe a fluro as waters 9/10 are clearer this time of year ...it can be a visual thing for the carp, a single hook bait and small pva bags,i'm talking walnut size no bigger and the quick melt type pva bags/netting, with crushed boilies in, no lose feed!!.........cause if a carp is over your bait and wants to feed then you have nailed him, stick loads of freebees out and a fish could feed for three days and still leave your hookbait.......i like white chocolate 10mm boilies in winter best....
