apparently in a place called st helens inbetween warrington and liverpool years ago there was a stretch of canal known locally as the hotties where water from the canal was used to cool down the glass at the pilkingtons factory then the hot water pumped back into the canal

apparently at the time people where catching cichlids and lots of tropical fish that had been let loose in the canal

i wonder what other fish there are in our rivers and canals that have escaped and can live here or live in certain places here
