Hi CAVANMAN...glad you caught your Perch but as GRAY says if a fish is deep hooked cut the line as close to the hook as possible and put the fish back they will normally get rid of the hook themselves....the problem with fish is the hearts are close to the back of the mouth and in trying to get a hook out it will damage the heart and internal organs leading to death far better just to leave the hook in and put the fish back
